Abstract:Stalno naraščanje števila prepeljanih potnikov v komercialnem letalskem prometu posledično predstavlja povečanje možnosti za prenašanje nalezljivih bolezni.

Language:EnglishAbstract:Constantly increasing numbers of passengers travelling by commercial air transportation result in more possibilities for the spread of contagious diseases. The suppression of borders and less control over the passenger flow in the global world also increase that possibility. Nowadays the level of technological development of biological agent detectors does not ensure immediate detection of a biological agent that is present either outside or inside the human organism upon passing through the detection point. The only reliable way to detect the presence of biological agents is in the domain of human or veterinary medicine, while its identification is the domain of specialized laboratories. A well-designed passenger terminal, regulated movement of passengers, adequate protection of personnel, well-qualified cleaning personnel, adequate handling of passengersʼ luggage and response of intervention agencies are essential for the detection, restriction or stopping a contagious disease. Keywords:airport, contagious disease, biological agent, infection
