Language:EnglishAbstract:It's been centuries since humankind is dealing with medical geography. Questions about why and how a certain disease is spreading, what are the causes for a certain disease to spread, what are the causes for particular parts of population getting sick and which are the mesaures to be taken for population to be healthy. All these questions are particulary relevant for Slovenian Army. Being present in critical areas where life conditions are much worse than in Slovenia, the army as critical population is more receptive to all kinds of diseases than civil population. Medical geography is not a well developed field in Slovenija. Data, information and knowledge are interspersed amongst individuals and several private or public institutions. Presented model is one possible solution that would allow for better preventive health support in the process of Slovenian Armed Forces planning and decision making in deployment. Timely recognition of health risks in areas of deployment would ensure optimal health care and minimize Slovenian Armed Forces member’s morbidity. Keywords:medical geography, Slovenian army, military medicine, medical intelligence, preventive medicine in Slovenian army
