Abstract:Za razliko od preteklosti in od tujih vojska, Slovenska vojska nima organske ognjene podpore v motoriziranih bataljonih in četah.

Abstract:From a difference from the past and from the other armys, Slovenian army has no organic fire support in motorized battalions and companys. In motorized battalion fire support as a combat function represents coordinated employment of land arms systems and support combat operations of this unit. Battalion's mortar company is responsible for indirect fire support of motorized battalion. In the future the fire support will be assured by 8x8 vehicles withintegrated mortar systems. 81 mm and 120 mm mortars will be self propelled. That system will have a lot of big advantages over towed mortars: faster readiness and firing of the first round, higher rate of fire, larger crew protection, higher mobility, faster settling and leaving of fire positionand larger amount of initial ammunition. In the future will also be more efficient logistics support. The expiriences have shown that such fire support unit would be a very good solution for efficient motorized battalion.
