Abstract:Kvantne tehnologije predstavljajo hitro razvijajoče se področje z izrazitim vplivom na obrambo in varnost. Prispevek obravnava temeljne koncepte kvantne mehanike in ključne kvantne tehnologije: kvantno računalništvo, kvantne senzorje ter kvantne komunikacije. Poseben poudarek je namenjen tehnologijam z dvojno rabo in uporabi kvantnih senzorjev za inercialno navigacijo v okoljih brez GNSS, v katerih atomski pospeškometri, žiroskopi, gravimetri, magnetometri in atomske ure omogočajo bistveno večjo natančnost, stabilnost in odpornost navigacijskih sistemov. Prispevek predstavi trenutne tržne rešitve in ključne evropske pobude (SiQUID, EuroQCI, DIANA). Ugotovitve kažejo, da kvantne tehnologije že dosegajo raven operativne zrelosti in predstavljajo strateško zmogljivost za krepitev obrambnih sposobnosti Slovenije in Evrope.

Language:EnglishTitle:Quantum technologies in defence and securityAbstract:Quantum technologies are a rapidly developing field with a significant impact on defence and security. This paper addresses the core concepts of quantum mechanics and reviews the main quantum technologies: quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communications. Particular emphasis is placed on dual use technologies and on the application of quantum sensors for inertial navigation in GNSS-denied environments, where atomic accelerometers, gyroscopes, gravimeters, magnetometers, and atomic clocks provide substantially improved accuracy, stability, and system resilience. The paper presents existing market ready solutions and key European initiatives (SiQUID, EuroQCI, DIANA). The findings indicate that quantum technologies are reaching operational maturity, and represent a strategic capability for strengthening defence capacities in Slovenia and in Europe.Keywords:quantum technologies, quantum computing, quantum sensors, quantum communication, defence
