Abstract:	Koncept vojaške znanosti pomeni interakcijo sistema oziroma področij vojaških ved, civilnih in vojaških izobraževalnih institucij ter njihovih raziskovalcev, ki so pri svojem delu usmerjeni v najpomembnejšo družbeno vrednoto – varnost. Prispevek v kontekstu razlag različnih avtorjev, slovarjev in enciklopedij kritično obravnava konceptualizacijo vojaške znanosti, ki ji literatura v slovenskem prostoru ne namenja posebej velike pozornosti. Prispevek poleg konceptualnih izzivov odgovarja tudi na vprašanje, kaj sploh je vojaška znanost in kako bi jo bilo treba razumeti v okviru sodobnih interdisciplinarnih pristopov ter prizadevanj izobraževalnih institucij, ki se analitično spoprijemajo z najrazličnejšimi spoznanji, predmeti ali temami, povezanimi z vojsko kot fenomenom, prakso ali idejo.
