Abstract:Dobro poznavanje terena in geografskih značilnosti področja v vojni ali miru je velika prednost pri izgradnji prometnih infrastruktur in vključevanje naselij v prostor. Tako ima na okolje in prostor največji vpliv prometna infrastruktura. V zadnjem času so se način življenja in potovalne navade močno spremenili in je osebno vozilo postalo nujnost in statusni simbol, javni potniški promet in promet blaga po železnici pa smo zanemarili. Kljub relativno dobri in obsežni cestni infrastrukturi na Kočevski vojaškogeografski smeri se vsakodnevno soočamo z večkilometrskimi kolonami vozil zaradi dnevne migracije ljudi v dopoldanskem času proti Ljubljani in v popoldanskem času v obratni smeri, proti Kočevju. Obravnavana povezava preko območja Kočevske geografske smeri ne zagotavlja ustrezne kakovosti storitvam, ki bi podpirale gospodarski in demografski razvoj, ribniški in kočevski regijski razvoj in prizadevanje za čezmejni promet z območji Gorskega kotarja in Kvarnerja in obratno z osrednjo Slovenijo.

Abstract:Good knowledge of terrain and geographical characteristics of area in war or in peace is a great advantage in building transport infrastructure and integration of settlements in the area. Thus the transport infrastructure has the biggest impact on the environment and area. In recent times, the way of life and travel habits changed significantly and the passenger vehicle has become a necessity and a status symbol, however, public transport and transport of goods by rail were ignored. Despite the relatively good and extensive road infrastructure in the military-geographical direction of Kočevje, day-to-day we are faced with several kilometre long lines of vehicles due to daily migration of people in the morning toward Ljubljana and in the afternoon in the opposite direction, toward Kočevje. The connection through the area of Kočevje geographic direction does not provide adequate quality to services, which would have supported economic and demographic development, Ribnica and Kočevje regional development and efforts for cross-border traffic with areas of Gorski kotar and Kvarner, and vice versa with central Slovenia.
