Abstract:	Leta 2001 se je svet spremenil. Amerika je doživela teroristični napad neverjetnih razsežnosti. Kot povračilo za smrt 3000 svojih prebivalcev, so se ZDA odločile napasti domnevnega krivca v Afganistanu, Osamo bin Ladna, ter ga pripeljati pred sodišče in strmoglaviti kruti talibanski režim ter prebivalcem omogočiti normalno življenje. Kot je kazalo na začetku, naloga ne bo težka, saj talibanski borci niso bili kos koalicijskim silam. Toda uporniki so se umaknili v varno zavetje Pakistana, kjer so se okrepili in tudi ob pomoči borcev iz Iraka začeli napadati koalicijske sile. Uporabljena je bila nova taktika samomorilskih napadalcev ter improviziranih eksplozivnih sredstev in tudi uporniški borci so bili veliko bolje izurjeni. Sedaj je vprašanje, ali zavezniške sile v Afganistanu čaka enak konec, kot so ga doživele ruske sile dve desetletji nazaj.

As a retaliation of its 3000 dead citizens, USA decided to attack Afghanistan and bring to justice the main suspect for the attack, Osama bin Laden, to bring down the cruel Taliban regime and offer its citizens a new and better life. At first, the mission looked easy as the Taliban fighters were no match for the coalition forces. But the insurgents retreated to the safe areas of Pakistan, where they recuperated and with the help from Iraqi insurgenst started to attack the coalition forces. New tacticts of suicide and IED attacks was used and the insurgents were trained much better than before.
