Jezik: | Angleški jezik | Naslov: | The relevance of article 3 of the North Atlantic Treaty for the implementation of host nation support | Opis: | This paper critically examines the concept of Host Nation Support, which is of key importance to the Slovenian Armed Forces and the Republic of Slovenia in fulfilling its NATO obligations. Host Nation Support is defined as civilian and military assistance provided by the Republic of Slovenia to Allied forces in various situations – in peace, emergency, crisis and war – in its territory, in territorial waters or in its airspace. This support enables the reception, retention and passage of forces and assets of Allied or other countries and includes both military and civilian capabilities. The need for NATO Member States to be resilient, including the ability to make appropriate preparations and to respond to various shocks such as natural disasters, complex crises or armed conflicts, in accordance with Article 3 of the North Atlantic Treaty, is also underlined. Slovenia, as a NATO member, plays a key role as a transit country, providing Host Nation Support, including the reception and protection of forces, logistical support and movement across the territory of the Republic of Slovenia. | Ključne besede: | Host Nation Support, military mobility, North Atlantic Treaty |
