Opis: With the ongoing Russian military operations against Ukraine, reviewing the impact of the military forces’ activities on the environment is crucial. The topic is relevant not only because the devastation is immeasurable, but also because all the data proves that wars have effects that accelerate climate change. In this paper we review some of the environmental issues arising from Russian aggression, and we also refer to the effects of previous military conflicts of this kind. We deal with the pollution caused by war and the relationship between war and water. We touch on the destruction of some aspects of infrastructure (cultural goods, energy, health, transport) and its consequences.Najdeno v: ključnih besedahPovzetek najdenega: ...and natural environment, pollution, devastation of war, Russia-Ukraine war...Ključne besede: built and natural environment, pollution, devastation of war, Russia-Ukraine warObjavljeno: 17.07.2023; Ogledov: 1169; Prenosov: 1 Polno besedilo (551,34 KB)
Opis: This study investigates, for the first time, the impact of the war on the information security of the EU’s banking industry. This domain is critical, as i) a significant cyber incident may lead to the financial and political instability of the Member States, and ii) the efficiency of the financial sanctions adopted by the EU depends on the appropriate operation of the EU’s banking systems. Qualitative methods were used in the study; relevant literature and publicly available sector specific data were analysed, and senior information security experts from Hungarian and Slovakian banks were interviewed. The results underpin the fact that banks in the EU are facing an exceptionally high level of cyber risk; the paper attempts to provide actions responding to these risks to keep the banking industry secure.Najdeno v: ključnih besedahKljučne besede: European Union, banking industry, cyberterrorism, Ukraine, RussiaObjavljeno: 05.01.2024; Ogledov: 1005; Prenosov: 3 Polno besedilo (419,47 KB)
