Jezik: | Angleški jezik | Opis: | Because of unique strategic potential of fast movement and deployment behind enemy lines, airborne forces still remain the most elite units in armed forces. When paratroopers reach ground, their tactical procedures are in most cases the same as the procedures of other land units, but however the work of airborne commanders is much more complex due to preparation and planning of airborne missions. The above mentioned concept remains present in practically all western armed forces, despite the fact that it hardly survived the cold war. The key to its survival lies in its adaptability, experiences in tactical procedures, knowledge of topography, armament, survival skills and ability of hidden operations behind the enemy lines. The missions of those units are nowadays mostly oriented towards execution of airborne raids, long range reconnaissance patrol missions, hostage recovery operations, execution of interdiction operations, capture of areas or airports. With introduction ofairborne landings to the lowest tactical levels, Slovenian armed forces would gain new possibilities for combat and recon operations at home and also within the sphere of alliances abroad. | Ključne besede: | airborne forces, airborne tactics, airborne raid, long range reconnaissance |
