From prehistory to the present day, soldiers, military theorists, political leaders, philosophers, academics and others, tried to establish ground rules for the conduct of the war. The Armed Forces constitute the basic principles of warfare conducted. All those who have studied the principles of war over the years are still not united on those principles, but they agree that these principles are a good starting point for assessing the military strategies and tactics, and are the basis for planning operations. Some principles of war are comparable, on the other hand, there are some principles that are different and contradictory. In the stabilization operation, which is a non-combat mode of Slovenian Armed Forces, are some principles more useful than others, depending on the situation itself. Army doctrine defines military principles.
