Abstract:Zaključna naloga govori o zaščiti udeležencev v spopadu po mednarodnem humanitarnem pravu. Opredeljuje in ureja zaščito žrtev vojne. Vprašanje zaščite civilnega prebivalstva se je začelo postavljati predvsem zaradi obsega in vrste sodobnihoboroženih spopadov. Sodobni spopadi poleg vojaških enot in potencialov prizadenejo predvsem vse strukture civilnega prebivalstva in okolja. Zadnji spopad, oziroma 22 dnevna vojaška operacija v Gazi, ki je potekala med izraelskimi oboroženimi silami in ekstremističnim palestinskim gibanjem Hamas decembra/januarja 2009, je znova pokazala vso krutost vojne do najbolj nemočnih kategorij žrtev spopadov.

In this war and humanitarian law related to an indivisible whole, which it regarded as the international law of arned conflict. The cornerstone of humanitarian law are the four GenevaConventions of 1949 and Protokol of year 1977. Therefore, this law is also known as Geneva law. It defines and regulates the protection of war victims. The issue of protection of the civilian population has begun to ask due to extent and nature of contemporary armed conflict. Modern conflicts in addition to military units and potential affect mainly the structure of the civilian population and the environment. The last conflicts, and 22 day military operation in Gaza, which took place between Israeli armed forces and the extremist Palestinian movement Hamas in December / January 2009, again showed all the cruelty of war to the most powerless victims of conflict categories.
