Abstract:Članek obravnava strateško kulturo ter vedenje ZDA v rusko-ukrajinskem konfliktu med februarjem 2014 in septembrom 2024. Identificirani in preučeni so tradicionalni elementi ameriške strateške kulture: ideja o ameriški izvzetosti (izjemnosti), liberalna filozofska tradicija, internacionalistična zunanja politika, vloga Nata in strategija posrednega nastopanja, vloga javnega mnenja in vpliv protestantske etike ter tehnološki fetišizem. Tradicionalni elementi ameriške strateške kulture se odražajo na vedenju ZDA v rusko-ukrajinskem konfliktu ter ga tako pojasnjujejo. Vedenje ZDA v rusko-ukrajinskem konfliktu potrjuje vzorec kontinuitete znotraj ameriške strateške kulture.

It identifies and examines traditional elements of American strategic culture, such as the idea of American exceptionalism, the liberal philosophical tradition, internationalist foreign policy, the role of NATO and the strategy of indirect engagement, the role of public opinion and the influence of the Protestant ethic, and technical fetishism. Traditional elements of American strategic culture are reflected in and explain US behavior in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The US behavior in the Russia-Ukraine conflict confirm the pattern of continuity within the US strategic culture.Keywords:American strategic culture, Russia-Ukraine conflict, behaviour of states
