Abstract:	Urbano bojevanje, še posebej pa zavzetje večjega mesta je zgodovinsko gledano eno najtežjih bojnih delovanj. Zanj so značilni ugodni pogoji za branilca, lahko pa pomeni tudi številne žrtve med civilnim prebivalstvom. Pri izvedbi bojevanja v urbanem okolju je poleg samega okolja potrebno upoštevati načela, ki pa ne zagotavljajo uspeha, brez njihovega upoštevanja pa nam grozi poraz. V zaključni nalogi se vrnem v leto 1945, ko so v zadnjih dnevih aprila in prvih dneh maja enote Jugoslovanske armade napadle mesto Trst in ga osvobodile. Preko opisa situacije v kateri je bil Trst, dogajanja med boji za Trst, sodelujočih enot in pomembno vlogo odporniškega gibanja, združenega po Komando mesta Trst, postavim osnove za primerjavo takratnega s sedanjim načinom bojnega delovanja v urbanem okolju.

Abstract:	Urban warfare, and in particular the seize of a larger city, is historically one of the most difficult combat operations. It is characterized by favorable conditions for the defender, but it may also mean numerous victims among the civilian population. When fighting in an urban environment is carried out, in addition to the environment itself, it is necessary to take into account the principles, which do not guarantee success, but without their consideration, you are threatened by defeat. In this work I return to the year 1945, when in the last days of April and the first days of May, the units of the Yugoslav Army attacked the city of Trieste and freed it. Through the description of the situation in which Trieste was, the events that took place in Trieste, the participating units and the important role of the resistance movement, united by the Command of the City of Trieste, I set the basis for comparing this combat operation with the current way of fighting in the urban environment.
