Abstract:Zahodni Balkan v zadnjih nekaj letih postaja za Slovenijo območje v katerega usmerja več pozornosti.

Abstract:Over the past few years Slovenia has increased attention to the region of the Western Balkans. In the context of Slovenian Armed Forces transformation and this assignment the concept and operationalization of initiative for the Western Balkans Multinational Land Force establishment has been prepared. International environment or international organisations enable operation of different multinational units. Which organisation is common to the countries of the Western Balkans, what are ambitions of Slovenia and what forms of cooperation has already taken place? These are some questions that need to be answered before taking any actual steps regarding multinational forces in the territory of the Western Balkans. Taking into account experience and knowledge it can be justifiably expected that Slovenian Armed Forces will have one of the leading roles within the eventual army unit jointly formed by the armies of the Western Balkans. Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF) already has some experience with this type of activities. We participate in NATO and EU declared units, together with Italy and Hungary we operate in Multinational Land Forces (MLF), we have established Battalion Battle Group that is affiliated in allied forces, and we have participated in crisis response operations since 1997.
