Abstract:	Hitro spreminjajoče se varnostno okolje, je zahtevalo spremembe v strukturi in organizaciji Slovenske vojske. S članstvom v zavezništvu Nato je postala obveza Republike Slovenije sodelovanje v mirovnih operacijah in misijah. Zmanjšanje logističnih kapacitet, uvajanje v operativno uporabo tehnično visoko razvitih oborožitvenih sistemov in opreme so kazali potrebo po vključevanju zunanjih virov v področje logistične dejavnosti vojaških organizacij. Tako postajajo zunanji viri pomembno orodje za zagotavljanje dodatnih kapacitet, ki povečujejo ali dopolnjujejo vojaške sile in sredstva s stalnimi pogodbami ali pogodbami sklenjenimi le za določeno nalogo. Zunanji viri pa niso le dejavnik logistične podpore vojaških enot, ampak postajajo način logističnega delovanja na območju vojaških operacij. SV je relativno majhna in njeni prispevki so zelo omejeni. Majhne kapacitete in specifične zahteve zahtevajo sklepanje pogodb in sporazumov, s katerimi je zagotovljena konstantna podpora enot in pripadnikov SV kjerkoli po svetu.

By becoming a member of Nato, one of the Republic of Slovenia's obligations became also to take part in peace support operations. Reductions in logistics capacity and the release of highly developed weapon systems and equipment into operational use created the need for including external sources in military logistics. External sources are thus becoming an important means of providing extra capacities that can enlarge or supplement military forces and resources with regular contracts or contracts signed for particular missions. However, external sources are not only an aspect of logistic support for military units but are becoming methods of logistic procedure in areas of military operations. The Slovenian Army is relatively small and its contributions are fairly limited. Small capacities and specific demands require contracts and agreements with which constant support of Slovenian Army's units and members around the world is ensured.
