Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo predstavili organizacijo, sestavo, naloge in zmogljivosti Vojaške zdravstvene enote kot nosilke zdravstvenega varstva v Slovenski vojski.

Abstract:In the thesis we present the organization, structure, functions and capabilities of Military medical unit as an agent of health care in the Slovenian Army. More specifically, we define and describe the basic professional activities and competencies of health care in the Slovenian Army including the extended competences of certain health personnel that are specific for the provision of health care and care in military and emergency situations. In doing so, we have further highlighted the role of combat paramedic who is not a representative of the medical staff, but has one of the key roles in health care on the battlefield. In the making of the thesis, we used the descriptive method based on the available written documents that are mostly instructions, manuals, elaborations, and other written materials that were written by Military medical unitʼs personnel and is used in their work. On this basis, we present its organization and operation. The material is the result of theoretical knowledge and practical experience of Military medical unit personnel. The results show that the Military medical unit with their staff, organization, standards, experience and mode of action is capable of efficiently delivering health care, not only in war situations, but also in the sphere of civil emergency. Experience gained from the cooperation of its members in international missions and exercises shows that the Military medical staff is adequately comparable to other health units of the NATO Allies.
