Abstract:Morje predstavlja odprto okno v svet. Je arterija gospodarstva, saj zagotavljazanesljivo in varno oskrbo s surovinami, prosto menjavo blaga ter relativno varno oskrbovalno pot. Več kot 80 odstotkov mednarodnega transporta in trgovine poteka po morju in ogrožanje varnosti plovbe s strani somalijskih piratov posledično pomeni ogrožanje svetovne gospodarske situacije, saj povišane cene plovbe neposredno vplivajo na povišanje cen nafte, ostalih materialnih dobrin in posledično na gospodarstvo. V boj proti piratstvu so se v zadnjih letih aktivno vključile mednarodne organizacije, predvsem Generalna skupščina Združenih narodov, Nato in Evropska unija. Slednja je za boj proti somalijskim piratom organizirala prvo skupno pomorsko vojaško operacijo z imenom Atalanta. Mednarodna skupnost ima pri reševanju problema piratstva na voljo vsa pravna in materialna sredstva, vendar brez odločnega angažiranja ne bo mogoče trajnostno zagotoviti miru in stabilnosti na tem področju.

An artery of the economy as itprovides reliable and secure supplies of raw materials, free trade in goods and relatively safe supply route. More than 80 percent of international transport and trade goes by sea and endangering the safety of navigation by the Somali pirates consequent threat to the global economic situation, as increased shipping prices directly affect the increase in oil prices, other material goods, and consequently on the economy. In the fight against piracy in recent years actively engaged international organizations, especially the General Assembly of the United Nations, NATO and the European Union. The latter is the fight against Somali pirates held the first joint naval operation named Atalanta. The international community has to solve the problemof piracy have all the legal and material resources, but without the strong engagement can not be sustained to ensure peace and stability in this area.Keywords:Somali pirates, ship, safety, cost, international operations
