Abstract:	Uspešna obveščevalno izvidniška dejavnost je predpogoj za uspešno uresničevanje poslanstev enot. Eden izmed osnovnih nosilcev taktične obveščevalno izvidniške dejavnosti je namenski izvidniški element. Njegova pravilna uporaba je in bo še naprej botrovala uspešnim izidom bojnih delovanj. Na podlagi izkušenj preteklih spopadov se je tudi izvidniška dejavnost temu primerno odzivala in preoblikovala. Če strnemo dosedanji razvoj izvidniške dejavnosti, sta za njo značilna dva koncepta, koncept bojnih izvidnikov in koncept izkrcanega globinskega izvidovanja. Vsaka izmed teh oblik konceptov je nastala kot posledica izkušenj preteklega delovanja in tudi na podlagi predvidevanj delovanj na prihodnjem bojišču sodobne vojne.

One of the basic carriers of tactical intelligence and reconnaissance activity is a dedicated reconnaissance element. Proper use of these, taking into account the principles, is and will continue to contribute to the successful outcome of hostilities. Based on the experience of past conflicts, the reconnaissance activity also responded and transformed accordingly. But if we summarize the development so far, we can define two basic directions of development, and these are the concept of combat reconnaissance and the concept of disembarked deep reconnaissance. Each of these forms arose as a result of gained experience of past operations and also on the basis of predictions of operations on the future battlefield of modern warfare.
