Abstract:Temeljna naloga mednarodnega sodelovanja na vojaškem področju je uresničevanjedejavnosti, ki učinkovito in neposredno podpirajo delovanje Republike Slovenije (RS) kot partnerice in polnopravne članice Nata in EU.

Language:EnglishAbstract:The fundamental purpose of international military cooperation is the implementation of activities that effectively and directly support operation of the Republic of Slovenia as a partner and a full member of NATO and the EU.Since Slovenia joined the North Atlantic Alliance on 29th March 2004, Slovenian armed forces (SAF) are even more actively involved in supporting international peace. SAF are included continuously for more than five years, while in Afghanistan to date. 877 members of the SAF worked in the ISAF missions (including the 14 contingent, which currently operates in Afghanistan). This is certainly a significant achievement for a small country like Slovenia, and its armed forces. When deploying a 14 contingent in october 2010 the SAF received more prominent role. Slovenian army took over the operational groups for mentoring and connections (operational mentor and liasion team - OMLT) within the ISAF, which brings up to now probably the largest expansion of tasks and responsibilities. Slovenian soldiers will work a longside afghan army officers on the field, command and conduct their campaigns. Slovenian OMLT represents a new milestone for the SAF participationin international operations and missions. Keywords:peacekeeping mission, ISAF, tranning, OMLT, Afganistan
