This support enables the reception, retention and passage of forces and assets of allied or other countries and includes both military and civilian capabilities. The need for NATO Member States to be resilient, including the ability to make adequate preparations and to respond to various shocks such as natural disasters, complex crises or armed conflicts, in accordance with Article 3 of the North Atlantic Treaty, is also underlined. The Republic of Slovenia, as a NATO member, plays an important role as a transit country, and the provision of host nation support includes the reception and protection of forces, logistical support and movements across the territory of the Republic of Slovenia. In the final thesis we will examine whether the necessary legal basis and capabilities of the Slovenian Armed Forces are in place for the successful implementation of host nation support and identify possible limitations to the implementation of host nation support. Keywords:host nation support, military mobility, The North Atlantic Treaty, deterrence, defense, resilience
