Abstract:	Za angleški termin aircraft obstaja več terminov v slovenščini (zrakoplov, letalnik, zračno plovilo, zračno vozilo), vsak bi zaradi svojih terminoloških lastnosti lahko bil ustrezna izbira, vendar presoja o najustreznejšem ni preprosta. Ker se je aircraft v Natovem glosarju terminov in definicij AAP-06 (velja za različico iz leta 2018) ponovil kar 510-krat, je nujen dogovor o najprimernejšem izrazu. Ugotovili smo, da bi o dosedanji rabi izraza zrakoplov bilo dobro na novo premisliti, preučiti nova stališča in nenehne spremembe v jeziku ter jih tudi upoštevati pri doseganju terminološkega dogovora.

Title:	Un-/justified terminological intervention in the use of Slovene equivalents for the term aircraft
Abstract:	The English term aircraft has several Slovene equivalents (zrakoplov, letalnik, zračno plovilo, zračno vozilo), each of them could be a suitable choice due to its terminological features. Nevertheless, determining the most suited one is by no means simple. As the term aircraft has 510 occurrences in the NATO Glossary of Terms and definitions - AAP-06, Edition 2018, reaching an agreement on the most apt term is crucial. It has been found that the current use of the term zrakoplov (aircraft) should be reevaluated, taking into consideration new perspectives and ever-present changes in language whilst trying to reach a terminological agreement.
